Yep, that is the version I have. The burnt wood packaging is really nice. My brother got it for me for a Christmas gift one year. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Interesting/weird indeed! That is The Wicker Man, a UK film from 1973, starring the great Christopher Lee and Edward Woodward.

I only have a few DVDs.

my collection goes as follows:

blade
blade 2
edward scissorhands
nightmare before christmas (the 10th anniversary addition with vincent and frankenweenie included)
night of the living dead
hellraiser: hellbound

I intend on asking for the delux LOTR TTT set for my birthday..the one with the gollum statue. not sure if I'll get it, but a girl can hope.

Few, but good! The NBC 10th is a must own, Vincent is my all time favorite film Tim Burton has ever done. Amazing! And I do hope that Night of the Living Dead is the original version, and if so, well, that is pretty much one of the only DVDs a person needs. [img]smile.gif[/img]

oh yeah..vincent is a great little film. I didn't much care for frankenweenie, but I love vincent. I've been meaning to get more DVDs, to beef up my collection, but between my toy, book, and CD habit, DVDs get kind of pushed aside.

Small, but 100% quality. I think most would agree that all of those are a "must have" for the collection! [img]wink.gif[/img]

My random thought/contribution to the "movie reviews" - I just watched Dog Soliders for the first time last night. I thought it was outstanding! Way, way better than I had expected. For those who don't know the film, it takes place in the Highlands of Scotland and involves British soliders on a training mission, werewolves, and a Dawn of the Dead-esque stand off (the "locked in a building" angle). I'd highly recommend checking it out if you haven't! [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img]

FROM HELL is a great flick. I had read a lot about Jack The Ripper and it englobes a few Hypothesis concerning Jack The Ripper put together wich is cool. There is also a few great scene that shows that there were more to the world than Jack The Ripper in england at the time (a scene with the Elephant Man that shows us what we didn'T see in the great David Lynch movie).

Visually, it looks like it was directed by Alex Proyas (The Crow and Dark City) but it's in fact directed by the Hughes Brothers. If you like flicks like The Crow and Sleepy Hollow, you'll enjoy FROM HELL.

I can't compare with the Comic Book though cause I haven't read it but I know that the comic book follows Jack while the movie follows the detective played by Johnny Depp.

The DVD version I have is the Collectors two disc wich isn't available anymore (unless you find a place where they still have some). The new version is a regular one disc with no extra version.<hr /></blockquote>I love the Crow & Sleepy Hollow, and Johnny Depp is pretty good too.... guess I will finally get going and watch it.
